Statement costume jewelry is one of my absolute favorite delicious things in the whole wide world.  I love a real showstopper, a one-of-a kind piece that exudes a real personality. Something that when you see it, you have to snatch it up, because you will never find one of its kind again.  A conversation piece essentially.

The best ways to find a fabulous vintage bracelet or cocktail ring are to comb auctions, tag sales, eBay (buyer beware as there are many fakes), consignment stores, vintage resale, etc.  There is new costume jewelry which is great- Alexis Bittar, Elizabeth and James, Delfina Delettrez- however I really like age on a piece of jewelry. It reminds me of a cat’s nine lives.

You can pair one of these finds with a cocktail dress or a black blazer and jeans or a long casual summer dress.  No matter what you wear, it will be iconic.  But it takes courage to wear such pieces as they will draw attention.
