Copper, when treated, has many really cool bonuses – it can withstand very high temperatures, bacteria will not grow on it – it will actually destroy bacteria, it can used as a wood preservative, it can be used on circuit boards because of its superior conductivity, it is also durable and corrosion resistant. Copper is also thought to create magnetic fields, therefore treating certain bodily ailments and can be used during printmaking to create etchings, engravings, etc via the printing plate.

In terms of cookware, copper has the capability to allow for beautiful and even cooking.  This is because of its superior heat conductivity, you can reach very precise temperatures nearly immediately.  It also has a great weight and is undeniably an aesthetically pleasing metal.
