As you may or may not know, Pantone has named Radiant Orchid as the color of 2014.  It is a pinkish-toned lavender color.  It is said to inspire originality and creativity.

Pantone is the authority on paint, color, and manufacturing.  They have been established for 50 years.  Design companies including fashion brands eagerly anticipate the unveiling of Pantone’s color choice every year as it will be indictive of worldwide trends.

This color doesn’t suit me unfortunately, however I do find it beguiling.  It works best on pale blondes with light features and olive skinned brunettes.  However, I find it fascinating in interiors because it is so rare and special.  An unlikely choice.
