At some parties I used to attend in New York when I was a part of the social scene, I met Margherita Missoni several times, who is the heiress to the Missoni fashion brand.  Her family has been eponymous with Missoni since 1953. Her family is so influential and iconic when it comes to fashion and yet she was humble, nice, and unassuming as can be.  I like this type of women, unaffected, breezy, and yet rebellious from her title.  A woman who creates her own present.

Missoni for me represents this type of woman. One who is free spirited, who reads Kerouac and quotes Beat poets offhand, and spreads love and ease wherever she goes. She is not rushed, she does sun salutations daily, and lives as though it is eternal summer. I’ve never been this woman, but I have the utmost respect for this sort of rebellion and rejection of this fast modern world.  A keeping to her true soul and spirit.
